Tuk Tuk Thai in Valencia / Canyon Country

  • 1

In the mood for a little Thai, we decided to try Tuk Tuk on Soledad in Canyon Country. The location is not that great, I think I've seen this place be two different types of Chinese AYCE joints that failed due to the odd building shape, probably the food (which I did not try) and the location. Going in with low expectations, we were surprised at the great service and general portions of the food.

We started off with the Tom Yum, great base and flavor, worth a try to all the tom yum lovers. Then we got some Tod Mun (Thai Fishcakes) that were exquisite. They had a crispy skin and the sauce was quite tangy. Then we ordered spicy noodles (drunken noodles on the menu), enough to feed 3, they were splendid, needed a little more spice but that's a personal preference.

Overall I would come back to this place. The food and service has a very mom and pop homey feel. The building may discourage newcomers but don't be fooled, the food will surely make up for it.

  1. I love Thai food -I'll give it a try! Thanks.
BTW- Tuk Tuk's are small motorized carts that transport people around Bangkok. Thai style taxi's I guess. :)KQ
