My fiance is taking me out to dinner on Friday night for my birthday and needs recommendations. Anywhere in the greater Boston area. Not too expenseive. Around $30-40 a person. I will eat anything but unfortunately he does not eat seafood. Something considered 'romantic' would be nice as well. Any suggestions taken. Thanks.

Troquet by the Common is expensive but many people like it and it's not too crowded whenever I walk by (at least the downstairs lounge is dead and they don't do Rest. Week). If you have a couple appetizers and split an entree, you can come in at your price range (assuming you mean food for $30-40). West Side Lounge in Cambridge would be nice. Maybe Fugyaku in Coolidge Corner and he can get tempura or something.

I'm not sure if you know, but this week and next is Boston Restaurant Week, so many restaurants will be totally booked already. I linked to a list so you'll know which of those suggested to you are not on RW.
