Light and Casual in Burlington area?

I need to choose a place for a date on Friday night and he said he wants "light and casual" in the Burlington Area (we both work here). Any suggestions for a nice Friday afterwork dinner...Light, casual..maybe even outdoor dining? Surrounding areas ok..Woburn, Lexington, Winchester, Bedford.

On Rt. 3A north in Burlington there is a strip mall on the right after Building 19 that has a Korean restaurant called New Jang Su in it. I think it just says Korean Restaurant or something generic in English on the sign. It specializes in Korean BBQ and it's pretty casual, and interactive, which can be good for a date. (And yummy.) I've mainly only had grilled pork and beef items with a group of 4-6 and had good experiences all of the times (3 I think) I've been there.

One poster was disappointed with it: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...

Well if you Catch might be a bit too upscale then I might suggest any of the following: Szechuan Garden in Woburn for great Szechuan food, PHO#1 Woburn for a nice mix of Vietnamese and Thai and the Swanton Street Diner in Winchester for a wide range of very food at reasonablew prices. I especially like their seafood risotto.

The atmosphere at the Swanton St. Diner is so-so. Very casula and at times a lot of families with kids. My wife and I usually opt to sit at the bar whoich overlooks the kitchen. Some of our favorites tghere are the seafood rissotto, (shrimp, fresh lobster, calamari, scallops), the cheeseburger, steak tips and any of the grilled or broiled fish. They usually have a special ot two that are usually good too.

At first I thought you were asking about Burlington, VT. Then I realized you meant MA, but the answer is still the same. American Flatbread - recently opened in Bedford near intersection of 62 and Middlesex tpke. Thin crust pizza, salad, and a couple of area microbrews always hits the spot.

I ate there a couple of weeks ago. It was fine, not great. I wouldn't take a date there, though, unless I was 17. It has that formulaic chain-restaurant atmosphere.

Catch, in Winchester, may be the best restaurant in the area. It's casual, and the food is great: a real nice date place.

              Hi

I would strongly reccomend Catch in Winchester. As the name suggests it is primarily a seafood place but they always have a couple of non-seafood things on the menu too. Catch is a wonderful small restaurant with excellent food. It is rather upscale in terms of pricing and the only serve wine and beer but you could not go wrong with it for your Friday night dinner. Because the place only seats about 40 people I would make sure to make a reservation as early as possible because it gets full quickly, especially on the weekends. Hope you enjoy it if you choose to go there.

Thanks very much. I love Catch but I think it is a bit upscale for what he was suggesting. We did Papa razzi last week. Any other suggestions?

Papprazzi's has an outdoor deck that's very popular in nice weather. The menu would allow for a casual dinner as well.
