red wine in kegs?
Thinking about fun summer times in this balmy weather. My friend and I happened to crash an outdoor party outside Geneva. The hosts had a keg of red wine. Well it was a barrel, but not the commercial size. It seemed like a nice simple way to provide wine for the crowds. Is this done in the states?
Yes, here's a link to my post on the San Francisco Bay Area board about Mas Wine Company in Cloverdale in Sonoma County. I agree that it's a great idea for parties or wine-by-the-glass programs.
Mas Wine claims to be the first California wine packaged in German-engineered kegs (15 liters). I posted it on the regional board because of a week ago it had only one retailer and a few local restaurants as customers and initial distribution is limited to Northern California.
