The Bakery House in Bryn Mawr for Birthday Cake

Karen K Aug 12, 2006 08:09 PM

Need an outstanding birthday cake. We adore Night Kitchen in Chestnut Hill. Philadelphia Magazine mentions The Bakery House in Bryn Mawr. Anyone know it?
Also anyone like anything better than Night Kitchen?

I agree with the other posters that Au Petit Delices in Wayne is excellent and so is THe Bakery House in Bryn Mawr but don't overlook Viking Pastries in Ardmore.

Bakery house makes amazing desserts. They are not as fancy as some things at Night Kitchen- but all so yummy and homemade.

We have gotten several cakes there, and everyone has loved one. My husband is a huge cake fan (I am not), and that is his favorite place to get cakes.

I know that I am spelling this wrong, but Aux Petites Delices in Wayne is amazing. Their triple chocolate cake is sinfull. I used that, and their strawberry cake, as my wedding cakes. (I couldn't decide on just ONE). They do have a website. I highly recommend.

Bryn Mawr's Bakery House... Hands down the best B'day cake I've ever had, and I've had many in many places. I prefer this cake to more refined European ones. It's dense, the icing is super rich, and there's a down-home quality to it that's appropriate somehow. I like it with chocolate cake and vanilla icing. It's really fabulous.
