Anyone have problems with Frogs Leap Cab?

I just purchased a bottle of 2003 Frogs Leap Napa Valley Cabernet at a reputable grocery, at $44

Upon opening, the cork smelled funky, but we plowed ahead with a very small taste. The wine smelled bad, tasted worse and was not drinkable by any stretch of the imagination. I will be taking it back, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem recently.

Thanks in advance.

According to most winemakers, 3-9% of all bottles become corked so this may very well be the case with that bottle. Now, that assumes it had a real "cork" cork and not one of the new synthetics. If it had one of those then who knows.

Hope this was resolved for you. Did you talk to Frog's Leap
Winery in Rutherford, California (Napa Valley)? They're really
quite wonderful people. Of course, the store who sold it to
      you should take it back...

      Let us know what happened...

I had this problem recently with a Mayacamas chardonnay. I notified them, but never heard back...too bad!

Go back to the store, they will send it back to the distributor who will credit them for it. Sounds like a corked wine, no big deal a reputable retailer will take good care of you.
