Gloucester by sea

Hi, friends will be sailing into Gloucester for the weekend and are looking for spots withing walking distance of the water for casual meals and maybe a drink in the evening. Any ideas?

I second Franklin cafe. Amazing mussels, great tuna, awesome specials. One of my favorite restaurants. Another place, on east main street (inner harbor/smith cove), is duckworth bistro. small, amazing food...

the rudder on rocky neck is lovely - their fried clams are yummy if you're in the mood! the owners are so nice, and are always there greeting the guests.
(it's not a clam shack kinda place, it's actually quite a nice restaurant, just happen to have good clams!)

let's see, also on rocky neck - sailor stans for delicious breakfast

if you are in gloucester harbor - there are tons of places downtown (nost right on main street- franklin cafe, passports, jalapenos(great mexican), valentino's (pizza), white rainbow (fancy)...there are lots of new places as well that i haven't been to yet.
      have a great weekend!
