Pakwanchi in Mississauga - any good?

I have heard good things about this place for its biryani.

I love the biryani at Biryani House but am looking for authentic Pakistani Biryani.

Pakwanchi is located at 35 Dundas Street West in Mississauga (Dundas & Hurontario).

PS - www.zabihah.com is a good site to check out reviews on Pakistani, Indian, and halal restos.

I went once. Couldn't tell you what the food was like, though, because the server completely ignored us. We even had to fetch our own menus.

Other customers who came in after us were served though. We were left with the impression that perhaps we were the wrong colour? Perhaps that is unfair, but I don't feel inclined to go back and test this theory.

I went there once two years ago for takeout, and finished my meal with very mixed emotions. I can't recall what was good and what wasn't, but I loved about half the dishes I ordered and had feelings ranging from neutral to utter disgust at the other half. I believe that their biryani was decent - nicely spiced but quite dry - but many of the other dishes were very heavy and oilier than I'm used to for Pakistani food.

Worth a try once given the utterly insane cheap prices, in my opinion. Like the other poster, I also found the service - even for takeout - to be poor. I practically had to jump up and down to get their attention, and when I got home, I found out that they forgot to give me my naan.
