Ho Ho Ho Garden [Split from S.F. thread]

Ernie's sweet and sour pork sounds exactly like the Chinese place (called Ho-Ho-Ho Garden) in Rhode Island that I went to with my grandparents 10 years ago. The entire menu was a list of Chinese American classics, and I went with the sweet and sour pork. The sauce included maraschino cherries and pickles (the sliced bread and butter pickles with the serrated edge found in delis).

It that in Providence? I'll look it up the next time I'm visiting my daughter, who teaches in Providence. I'm always looking for a blast from the past ;-)

No, not in Providence. It's in one of the small towns west of there. I really can't recommend it though. The food wasn't that good at all. I found it funny because my grandparents oohed and aahed over the "authentic Chinese food."

I just found the info on it (I had the name slightly wrong before):

      Ho Ho Restaurant in Greenville.

The review in the link is kind of scary. Especially near the end. I'm bummed that I don't remember the cole slaw and French fries that apparently came with the meal.
