Hello,
I will be visiting nyc soon and would like have Indian food. Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced Indian restaurant.

I would not suggest Cafe Spice, but I love Bay Leaf and Utsav both. My favorite is Tamarind on 22nd.

Tamarind is beautiful, and fabulous! Upscale and a bit pricey, worth it.

Not only price, type of food (there are very different regional Indian cuisines, though most serve North Indian/Punjabi Mughlai restaurant cuisine), preferred area, etc.

There have been a number of recent threads on Indian food.

If you're not looking for all vegetarian and reasonable is about $30 with beer I'd start with Cafe Spice (multi-regional). The one in the village tends to be better than midtown.

Even more reasonable is to do a lunch buffet at one of the upscale midtown places, usually about $13.95. Chola has had raves here, but I haven't tried it yet. I like Bay Leaf, but there have been dissents. Utsav seems to have more fans than Bay Leaf. Stay away from Bombay Palace.
