North End Italian for Family

My husband, 10 year old son and I will be in Boston in October. We are interested in a good italian restaurant in the North End after we do the North End Market Tours. We are looking for a tratoria style restaruant with good food and great atmosphere. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I would second the rec on Antico Forno. Small, trattoria type atmosphere, good food that would appeal to even a 10 year old. I used to take my daughters there when they were about that age and it was one of their favorites. As mentioned by others the prices are very moderate compared to some North End places.

I'll add my vote for L'Osteria as well -- nice, low key, family run place, I've taken my 4 kids there on several occasions and never had a bad experience. GREAT veal marsala, btw!

My husband & I had a filling, yummy meal at Antico Forno last Saturday night. Friendly service, pretty good wine list & a bargain compared to a lot of other places...

Antico Forno is a good bargain.

Oh, a few restaurants not mentioned in that thread that I also like a lot are Lucca, Taranta, La Galleria 33 (brand new and excellent), Eclano.

This recent thread sums up North End restaurants pretty well:
