Does anyone know what is being done with the old Deli Haus spot? I
walked by there earlier this week (edge of Kenmore Square, near
Charlesgate) and saw that there seemed to be actual renovation going
on there..with Petit Robert Bistro down further there, hoping that
maybe, as Kenmore has been "cleaned up", it has attracted someone
to open up something there..

Just curious if anyone knows of anything..?

Chowhound's mission is to help everybody eat better right now, today. Nostalgia threads and speculations about what new restaurants are coming to town are fun, but they usually end up chatty, taking a lot of space and diluting Chowhound's effectiveness. We're closing this thread to ensure limited chow dilution.

Thanks for understanding. All for the greater Chow good!

Deli Haus is one of my most-missed spots. Food was decent, but I had some of the greatest service of my life there----shocking, I know. There are far too few good late-night spots in this city. I was really sad to see them go.

Deli haus' bathroom was like the perfect location to shoot a snuff film.

Suprisingly though, they had an impressive Belgian beer selection.

i worked at the deli haus in the late 80's early 90's - waiting tables until ungodly hours of the morning - you DO NOT want to know what went on in those bathrooms!
also, most of the food was really not very good, but they did a great breakfast - you couldn't beat a "beat the haus" for a hangover and the potato pancakes were awesome and greasy!

It is owned by the same guy that owns The Rattlesnake, The Parish and, the 2 Bukowski Taverns
