Nan Tonight
My SO and I thinking about trying Nan tonight for the first time. Any dishes we shouldn't miss?
As you know I am a vegetarian.
Excited to try it!
I just looked at the menu and didn't see anything vegetarian. Perhaps we should go somewhere else?
We NEVER venture into West Philadelphia so I can use some advice.
Not expensive please!

I'm sure Nan can make the pad thai without the shrimp. Their pad thai is wonderful. I always take out the shrimp anyway.
If they have the cold cucumber soup, don't miss it! They usually have it in the summer. My husband loves the lemon grass soup.
I would think that they must have some options for vegetarians. Have you called them?
For dessert, we love their puff pastry apple tart with caramel sauce.
Good luck!

New Delhi on 40th and Chestnut is pretty good Indian. It's a buffet so I don't know if that is something you are interested in or not. Nothing fancy but not a dive either, and it's like $10 per person, you get a small dessert with your meal too. They have veggie selections but you may want to call to see how many if you decide to go. They have a website too.

I absolutely love Nan, but I do think you will have some trouble finding something vegetarian. They have very nice salads, but I do not think that can constitute a meal. It may be possible to ask for pad thai without shrimp, but .....
How about the pho cafe (42nd and spruce)? white dog? Zocalo?
