Badal Indian Cuisine in Sunnyvale?

  • Share

A shy lurker recommends Badal in Sunnyvale - "Menu similar to the standard Tandooriloin places. It is down in the strip mall at Hollenbeck and Homestead (the one with the Safeway, I believe, not the one with the Mcdonalds). Egg curry and butter chicken particularly notable (I havent sampled that many items there, actually)."

What do other chowhounds recommend here?

  1. er, more lazy and busy than shy ...

anyway, they *used* to have a WEEB page at
www.badalfoods.com, but it seems to have
disappeared [top page still in google cache].

i wonder if they changed name again ... as some
indian restaurants are wont to. i hope they didnt
    exit the market.

the dining environment isnt that great, but the
standard "north indian" items here were generally
    pretty good.

one afternoon while i was waiting for my togo order
like 10 30something indians came by and picked up
giant togo orders but nobody actually dined in.
i have never seen a non-indian there [like dana bazar
in the old days ... and viks in the even older days ...
and pasand back when it was in the emeryville mkt in the
    oldest of days :-)].

anyway, i hope they are still around.

I hope so too. Just tried calling the number (lunch hour now) and it rolls over to a generic voicemail . . . not auspicious.

Jatbar has a review and some pictures that are fairly recent:

Sorry for the false alarm, tried calling again, and Badal is open for business.

It does indeed seem to have changed name to something
"google unfriendly" like T&D Indian Restaurant ... I didnt
actually go in (ended up at Cafe Dhaka, in fact).

Anyway, it's right in front of the Safetyway on Hollenbeck
            at Homestead.
