Looking for a Nobu-like place that would be a little more off the beaten path for about 12 people on a Saturday night. Location is not too important, but I would prefer something downtown. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  1. If you want a "Nobu-like place" you might want to try Le Miu in the East Village. It's not that big, but if you call to reserve and talk to the maitre'd they can probably accomodate 12. The sushi chefs are from Nobu and other new-style Japanese places in the city, and their $45 tasting menu is a good bargain. (They have a $65 one as well, but it's not worth the extra money. Stick with the $45.)
