Best eats along the road from DC to WV?

I'm headed out to Lansing, WV to go rafting with some friends the weekend after next and I'm wondering if there are any can't-misses along the way? We'll be taking 68W to 79S to 19S (through Morgantown, Buckhannon, Summersville), and we're hoping to stop somewhere along the way for a good meal (of any kind, any price range, as long as it's memorable). Any ideas? Thanks.

  1. The Savage River Lodge in Maryland (outside of Frostburg) off of 68 has a terrific restaurant. I just can't remember how far off the beaten path it is.

Though there's a good mexican joint on the main street in Frostburg. Of course I can't remember the name, but I'm sure there's not more than one mexican place in that little town.

    1. We stayed at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke WV last week... it's just off 79S, a few miles south of Clarksburg. You can eat at the restaurants without being resort guests. We enjoyed both restaurants at the resort... Stillwaters is in the lodge and has a view of the lake. The better view is at Lightburns which is located on the golf course on the mountain above the resort. We ate on the terrace several evenings and the view is phenomenal. An indigo bunting (beautiful blue bird) was serenading us each evening from a tree nearby. The food at both restaurants was very nice (nod to Stillwaters on the food, nod to Lightburns on the view).
