l'impero equivalent

looking for that level of food at those prices (65-70 p.p.) to celebrate anniersary. doesn't have to be Italian.

  1. Alto is run by the guy who used to cook at l'impero--you might want to check them out.

    1. To be accurate, Alto's chef, Scott Conant, is still in charge of the kitchen at L'Impero. Also, Alto is much more expensive. All the menus are prix-fixes, with the least expensive being 3 courses for $65. Thus, depending on what one drinks, the cost could be near $100pp.

      Hearth is doable for $65-70pp (again, depending on what one drinks). I do think the ambiance at L'Impero is way nicer. But Hearth is pleasant, the food's excellent, and service is first rate.

      We recently had a wonderful dinner at Pampano. Definitely not some average taco joint, this fish-oriented Mexican restaurant has very creative, delicious cuisine; friendly, efficient service; and very nice ambiance. Prices would fit the budget.
