Bouley vs Bayard

I want to take my gf out for excellent French. Can some people weigh in on which they find superior? Thanks.

I haven't been to Bayard, but my one trip to Bouley was quite good. The waiters were a little smirky, but the food has lots of flavor.

I like them both. Which one did you end up going to, hammer?

I've only been to a catered party at Bayard, so I can't comment on the dining experience. But, the food I had was really unimpressive. On the other hand, I've almost always had a fantastic time at Bouley, and service, while a bit distant, has always been pleasant and helpful. And I love the freebies thrown into the prix fixe meals.

I agree with Lucia 100%. I've always had wonderful meals at Bouley (great food, service, atmosphere and wine). In fact I'm going there next week to celebrate my birthday.

Bayard's is great -- a real step back in time in a refined setting with excellent food, fabulous service and wonderful wines. I had the worst meal of my life at Bouley. The food was okay, but the service was completely terrible. They were rude, stuffy and annoying. I will never go back there, and would not recommend you do, either. Just my opinion, of course.
