Vegetarian/Vegan Mid-Coast Maine?

We'll be vacationing in Mid-Coast Maine and would really love any recommendations. Macrobiotic would be great too............Of course, we eat fish so I'm sure we'll find plenty of great chow!

if you will be in the mid coast maine area, you have to eat at eden vegetarian in bar harbor. the food there is really just so delicious, so creative... they get their vegetables (which is mostly everything on their menu) from mid coast farms and you can really taste that freshness in the food. i know the chef is culinary-trained, and the menu shows it. we live half the year in blue hill, and visit eden often. it is worth the irritation of bar harbor in the summer tourist season. make a reservation! they have a small number of tables, and are very popular in bar harbor. we love their olives, and the seitan preparations, and the mousse cake. so yummy. go!

oh! and chase's is great. they have such wonderful art on the walls... if you are vegan, it is pretty 'dairy'... but you can get around that easily enough...

I would definately try Cafe Miranda in Rockland and Eden Vegetarian Eden Cafe in Bar Harbor.

Yes, definitely Chase's. If you're going up Main St, away from the water, it's on the left on the last block before the post office. I lived in Belfast when I was a kid in the mid-70s, and am amazed at how much things have changed. Then, you were lucky to find a decent pizza joint. Now they've got one of the best vegetarian spots on the mid-coast.
