Pepper Lunch, Milpitas report (w/ pics) Just ok lunch.

  • 1

Co-worker and I went to Pepper Lunch on 8/8/06 for lunch. We were the first ones there and service was good.

From the menu I picked sizzling beef w/ curry rice $5.30 and an egg for .50 more. This comes w/ a bowl of miso soup which is good-has noodles in it, no tofu.

Sizzling beef was a good size but if you're a big eater getting extra meat $1 more would be worth it. Too much rice and not enough beef, it got boring to eat after a while. Wish we ordered some sushi, or salad, or gyoza to go along w/ the lunch. There is a better special on the front page: beef special w/ soup and salad, and soda for $6.99, we didn't go that route.

The brown sauce that's on the table is sweet and very salty. Best to just put a bit when the meat is cooking. I don't notice my clothes stinking so that's good.

P. got sizzling beef over udon. He seemed to like it.

Nice to try once, but don't think I need to go back.

  1. I am somewhat a regular at Pepper Lunch. I like their curry katsu rice, which is made with lots of beef and veggies. Katsu is fried just right, crispy outside, juicy inside. Rib eye on sizzling pan is a good deal too.
