Great meal at Chinois on Main

Recently had a wonderful dinner at Chinois on Main. Had the chinese chicken salad as an appetizer ... excellent! Then I had the Shanghai Lobster, which was wonderful. For dessert, I had a chocolate peanut butter crunch extravaganza, and it was a sweet, sweet ending to a fine dinner!

    When I go to Chinois I often eat by myself at the counter there. Sometimes the other people sitting there are friendly, sometimes not; however, the food and service have always been first rate. I am not sure if they take reservations for the counter though.

      FINALLY...
      Someone has mentioned Chinois on Main.

      Yes Wolfgang still owns it. They just celebrated (well a year ago) there 20th anniversary. Chinese Chicken Salad is good, best at lunch. But at dinner you need to go deeper into the menu. What makes me "Mr. Knowitall" when it comes to Chinois? We've eaten there at least 3 times a month for the past 10 years. Consistent every time.

      If anyone needs a guided tour of the menu, please feel free to ask.

      And yes the Shanghai Lobster is one of the best on the menu.

        the special oyster appetizer is awesome...fried and in some kind of yougurt sauce (maybe) with salmon eggs....served in shell

          Would love a guided tour, as someone just minutes ago asked me if I would like to go on my birthday this weekend! I have not been in a long time, but have never been disappointed in the past. Please, refresh my mind...four of us....and no fish eaters, other than lobster or crab, which technically are not fish I know. This is getting me excited! Thanks in advance.

            Is Chinois on Main a good place for a single diner to eat at the bar? Need reservations for there on a Friday evening? I will be dining alone soon and haven't been there in a while but it was great when I was there. Thanks for the advice.
