Marconda Meats At The Farmers Market [Split from Home Cooking]

Will Owen Aug 9, 2006 12:19 AM

Marconda is at the west end, near the Gumbo Pot, and Puritan Poultry (an affiliated business) is nearby. There's another butcher shop whose name I cannot at the moment remember (Taylor's?) at the east end. Funny thing: there's an ice-cream stand right next to each one too! Ooohh, how CONVENIENT...

I go to Marconda for those pork steaks, and for their excellent sausages, both their own and packaged. They also have wonderfully good lamb. I'm sure the steaks are great as well, but as I can't afford to pay that kind of money I'll never know. The stuff I do buy from them ranges from really cheap to reasonable. I got a 12v fridge for my car just so I could buy meat there in hot weather...

BTW, I just saw a posting on the LA Board saying that Marconda did in fact take over from Tusquella's. Go there and look for the thread about "Taylor Ham".
