Allen's New American Cafe

I'm wondering if anyone has been there recently. I'm planning on taking my mother there this weekend and was just curious about the place. I went there once for lunch and thought the food was good and the atmostphere relaxed. I'm hoping for the same, as my mom likes good food but doesn't enjoy a stuffy or uptight environment. Thoughts? Recommendations?

    1. I went for dinner about year ago (not exactly recent). But the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed, as you described. From my experience I'd say it'd be a good pick for Mom. Otherwise, I'd suggest Northpond. I took my mom for brunch Mothers Day like 3 or 4 years ago. It instantly made the list as one of her favorites. Classy, good food, but not overly chic or sleek.

        1. Thanks RottenTanx. I actually did suggest North Pond but alas she prefered something within walking distance to the hotel where she's staying.
