Dinner Near The Metropolitan

LA Hounds heading to the Metropolitan Museum in the next couple of weeks and looking for some place nearby for a nice sit down dinner. We're going mid-week, not particularly on a budget and anything other than Chinese or Japanese would be good. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Cafe Sabarsky in the Neue Gallery is very, very good, although their hours are a bit funny, so check. It's very elegant -- during the day, Viennese cafe, by night inventive Austrian cuisine. It's a lovely spot.

And, of course, there's always EAT -- festive and fun, and the food's delicious. (I've heard it described as an "American Brasserie.") It's certainly thoroughly New York!

I've always been fond of Cafe Boulud. On East 76th Street, it's quite close by.
