Lunch between Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg

Will be driving from Myrtle Beach to Gatlinburg (via I-26) on a Saturday and would like to get lunch someplace Chowhoundy in between--might normally consider Bull Hawg's BBQ outside Spartanburg, but girlfriend is not a real BBQ fan--some sort of fish place would be nice (fish camp or ??) not too far from freeway. Or anything unique and not expensive (eating lunch at Salsa's in Asheville on the way down) Thanx for any suggestions.

I can think of a few ideas.

Spartanburg: Wade's is a meat -n- three that's been around a long long time. Not gourmet, but 'hound-y, IMHO. Great yeast rolls. It's just a few miles off 85, and not far from the 26/85 interchange.

Landrum: Stone Soup is maybe a 1/2 mile off 26. I have never had weekday lunch there...Sunday brunch is stuff like shrimp and grits, crab cake salad, eggs benedict, etc. At night, I have had lamb shanks there. Caveat...they just expanded and the service was miserable the last time I was there.

Asheville: Since you're already going to Salsa, there's Sunny point... they specialize in breakfast-y type food, but have other things. Close at 2:30. It's just off 240, which is only a couple of miles past where 26 hits 40 (I assume you will go on to G-burg via 40)

If any of those seem to fill the bill, I can give you beter directions.
