Looking for a nice, delicious little place maybe in the west village or chelsea to bring a friend for a bday dinner. nothing too trendy, more interested in good food and a nice atmosphere. a couple of my favorite places are lupa & prune, but i want to go to a place none of us have been before.
some ideas are crispo or the little owl...
any suggestions?
also--it's for this friday night...

I recommend both Little Owl and Crispo. August is another good option.

I would go to Giorgione before Crispo..

I love Crispo for the food and atmosphere and would highly recommend it. I have not been to Little Owl, sorry. I recently had a great dining experience at Giorgios of Gramercy, a low key place with great, friendly service and terrific food. It would be a good fit for what you are looking for but it is a little outside your target area.

I second Crispo...Haven't been to Little Owl yet, but I've been to Crispo several times in the past couple months and have never been disapointed. The service is always great and everyhing I've gotten has exceeded my expectations. Atmosphere is perfect for taking a friend out. Enjoy!
