Baking a cake in a pyrex bowl

I want to make Martha Stewart's Monkey cake for a birthday. It calls for baking in a 3 1/2 quart stainless steel mixing bowl. Could I use a pyrex mixing bowl instead? Should I turn the heat down 25 degrees and bake a little longer? I do not have a stainless steel mixing bowl.

  1. Your plan to use Pyrex and turn down the heat sounds good to me.

    1. You can try it, but don't wait until the day of the birthday to try it for the first time. Baking very much follows math equations when it comes to ingredients, baking temperature, pan size, etc.
