Last minute solo visit to Sydney

It's just a 3 day weekend trip but I'd like to make the most out of it foodwise. I have a reservation at Rockpool for Saturday (Tetsuya's was fully booked). Any suggestions for a solo diner? I'll eat anything, as long as it's good!

Not sure if this is now too late but the new Sydney Fav is La Sala, round the corner from Longrain, also a must visit if you;ve got time

Too late for the last trip, but I'm actually heading back next week for a slightly longer visit. Thanks for the suggestions - I look forward to checking them out.

BTW, I did enjoy Rockpool and was treated quite well there. I had the tasting menu with the premium wines. The food highlight for me was the scallop and squid with squid ink noodles. Unfortunately the outstanding chianti they served with it just couldn't stand up to the intensity of the food IMO. As a veal shank lover I found their 18 hour braised version a bit bland, which was rather disappointing. Still a very enjoyable evening though.

Have lunch at Sailors Thai (upstairs in the Canteen) - long communal table and great Thai - the pad thai is a favourite. Or another Thai option is Prasits takeaway (but you can eat in) on Crown St Darlinghurst. Breakfast at Bills or Bills 2 (best scrambled eggs in the world).

Can't think of anywhere that would look twice at a solo diner so don't hold back. Icebergs at Bondi for a great view (or even just go into the club for a burger - it has "club" rules but if you're from out of town you can just sign in as a guest.

Personally I'm not a fan of Neil Perry & Rockpool, but it's an interesting room and I hope you enjoy it.

Also - another thought if you like Italian - there are 2 great places in Paddington (for dinner) - Lucio's and Buon Ricordo.
