how to get the most out of your KERNELS popcorn (with pics!)
on a hot summer day, nothing beats a visit to kernel's popcorn at the santa anita mall. it's the only local branch of a canadian chain, and one of the few places i've managed to find savory popcorn in L.A. lately i've discovered a new method to get the most out of my purchases there. i've also learned that they have special savory flavors (like spicy dill pickle) that you can order in advance for pickup if you phone 'em! i love kernel's, and if you're curious about my newfound techniques, check out the photos here. all serious hounds should try it ;).

i *heart* popcorn with funky flavors! when i was a kid i wished they would individually sell the flavor packets that come along with instant noodles because i could lick on those all day :p
btw, the sunday farmers market at Santa Monica and Corinth has a stall which sells savory popcorn. comes in cheese and jalapeno cheese (really spicy) flavors. they also sell the sweet ones as well. i haven't been there in a while, so i can't say for sure if they're still there.
