I'm looking for a reasonably priced, reasonably quiet restaurant within reasonable walking distance (we are good walkers) from the Caltrain station at 4th and Townsend. I'm not looking for a hot spot or a scene, but a place to take family.

How about Town's End at 2 Townsend St. They serve very good American food -- great bread basket, local produce.

Amici's has some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. I haven't been to the new location on King St., but the rest of the locations are really nice (by pizza standards). My dad called them "yuppie." Great margherita pizza (we get it with tomato sauce). They excel in New York style pizza.
