something good near independence hall?

paprika Aug 7, 2006 06:09 PM

I'm going to be near Independence Hall on Saturday and want something good for a late lunch. Better yet, something vegetarian that I could take to the ballpark. Any suggestions?

Maybe the spicy cold soba noodles from Tampopo? I'll bet those would keep well and be a good veggie ballpark snack.

You can find all kinds of things at Fork, etc., the deli take-out place next to Fork at 238 Market, three blocks east of Independence Hall. IMHO, it's the best take-out in Old City, and very pleasant to eat in. Website at www.forkrestaurant.com.

A lot of things at Fork:etc look downright old and tired in the display case. It may be the best take out in Old City because it's the only game in town.

If you go, order something that has to be made fresh for you.
