what's the name of this Turkish sauce/

I had a nice dish of calamari with a walnut-garlic sauce, but the waiter didn't speak Turkish and the cook didn't speak English. I know how to make the sauce (soaked bread, garlic, walnuts, ;olive oil...) but I don't know the name of it. Can anyone help? Thanx...HowardL

  1. Sounds like agliata...but I think it's Italian?

      1. Tarator, based on your ingredients.

          1. It's the turkish equivalent of the greek skordalia which is often served with seafood and particularly fried cod.
