Burger at Ye Old Rstic in Los Feliz

According to an April issue of NY Mag, it's the best burger in LA? True? Close? Opinions?

I tried the Myrtle Burger yesterday and it's good, but it's a sad statement about Los Angeles if this is the city's best burger. Most of the flavor seemed to come from the abundance of toppings, not the beef itself. I've actually had the patty melt two previous times at Ye Rustic and prefer it to the Myrtle. Both are good, though. Neither are transcendent.

Again, this is NY Mag's take on things. My personal favorite is The Ramp in Burbank - where I get it without ANY toppings...

i love the wings and burgers at ye rustic inn, but it is SO INCREDIBLY LOUD (like sitting next to a speaker at a rock concert) and DARK in there. and if you can't hold a conversation with the person you're with, it really blows. on the other hand if you don't care to listen to your dinner companion(s), it's perfect. last time, i got my buffalo chicken wings to go.

it's on hillhurst, one block south of franklin.

not quite so food-related, but if you grab a burger there and are interested in continuing the evening, the good luck bar down the street (just north of the sunset junction) is my favorite bar in l.a. the singapore slings and mai tais are quite tasty, and the old-school chinoiserie vibe and excellent jukebox make it the perfect place for a nightcap.

Not that it is important, but the sunset junction is east of there, it is where Sunset and Santa Monica meet.

kikima's reference to Sunset Junction is actually the one where Sunset, Hillhurst and Hollywood Blvd. all come together. Actually, its address is 1514 Hillhurst, just north of that awful intersection.

Ye Rustic Inn is located at the Southwest corner of Russell & Hillhurst, to be precise, at the northern end of a strip mall.

I too will vouch for the Myrtle burger and wings at the Rustic; they're good even before you've started drinking.

They are also known for their buffulo wings which are supposed to rival the original ones from the Anchor Bar in Buffulo NY.

I'd heard it was pretty good and had to see for myself. Ordered the Myrtle Burger, as is...It has swiss on it...and bacon...and some sauce. And um... YUM!

Best burger in LA? I don't quite know. It's a DAMN fine bar burger, though, and if you are in the neighborhood, why not?!

It's cheap too, I want to say $6-$7. or so.
