Downtown Kansas City Thai Place?

Irishbeer4me Aug 6, 2006 02:25 AM

Has anyone eaten at Arun Thai Place Grill, downtown Kansas City on 7th street? Good? Bad? Somewhere in between?

Thanks

Thumbs up -- way up -- from me!

While I've only dined at the downtown location once, I used to love Ann (Arun) Liberda's Thai Place on Santa Fe in Overland Park for many, many years. Since I'm in Midtown now, I love her Westport venue.

The food at all the Thai Place restaurants is really quite good and I've rarely had any problems with service.

In addition to downtown, Westport, and Overland Park, I believe they also have one north of the river, too.

It's very good. The menu is a little bit different than the Thai Places in OP and Westport -- a few more high end dishes but with most of the dishes that are excellent elsewhere. The interior is definitely swankier -- fewer Asian knickknacks more fabulous fixtures. Of some interest is the reverse happy hour, from 9 pm to 1 am. Oh, and I think it turns into a dance club venue after 10 on the weekends. They push the tables to the wall.
