Chinese Vegetarian in SGV

Paliman Aug 6, 2006 01:53 AM

I am entertaining a vegetarian friend next week who has never had Chinese vegetarian. The only place I know, since the demise of the wonderful place in the Great Mall of China, is the place next to the bowling alley on Valley Blvd. Any other suggestions, and why?

    Happy Family
they are on atlantic in monterey park.
i believe that they may have just moved (their location was being redeveloped) so someone else here will need to help with their current address.
    very good food.

I think they moved across from Empress Harbor, which would be 111 N. Atlantic. Another location is in Rowland Heights (18425 Colima Road).

        good choice.
hunan ham ersatz - great soups, you can have zhou/xifan/porridge if you like instead of rice with the meal.

        interesting mushroom dishes as well.

Vegetarian Wok on Valley Blvd. The times I've gone it has been quite popular and the food has been good, though it is heavy on starch.

I recommend the place on Las Tunas at Mission. Currently this is the best of the bunch, with the place by the bowling alley coming in a close second.

I've posted on this subject previously:
