Banh Mi Query

BIM Aug 6, 2006 01:30 AM

I was at the Banh Mi Che Cali in San Gabriel the other day and saw a sign for "Banh Mi Bo Ragu" and "Banh Mi Cari Ga" (accent marks missing.) Can anybody tell me what these are and if they're any good?

bo ragu = beef ragout (probably tomato sauce)
    cari ga = curry chicken

    Don't know if their's is any good...sorry.

Bo ragu is usually translated as "beef stew"... it's thick and goopy.

        Don't you mean bo kho?

No, I mean bo ragu. Bo kho is also usually (correctly) translated as "beef stew", but it's a different kind... "bo ragu" ends up being "beef stew" as well.

Either way - sounds like I give it a pass.
