I'm looking for a place to host a dinner for about 100 people in South Beach. I'm not from Florida & would love to find a resonably priced place with amazing food in a fun location (maybe outdors?) that can accomodate around 100 people. Authentic Latin, Greek or Italien food- any type of authentic food, actually would be great. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. TWO SUGGESTIONS....THE BILTMORE HOTEL IN CORAL GABLES IS FABOO AND, A LITTLE PRICEY BUT OH SO OVER THE TOP, BARTON G'S ON SOUTH BEACH. ALSO, RUMI'S IN SOUTH BEACH. GOOD LUCK!

    1. Taverna OPA on Ocean Drive may be just the place for you? It's Greek, good and very festive. 100 people is asking a lot, especially if you plan to do this on a weekend...and during season. They do have an outdoor area where plates get smashed on the floor for a mere $4 as part of the OPA fun. People dance on the tables at this 'wild and crazy' place and they definately work deals for groups. It is very reasonable and very good.

Other ideas you may consider are:

Nikki Beach Club across the street. They offer drinking and dining in the sand with the Atlantic right over the dune. Also on Ocean Drive. Simple ecclectic asian/med cuisine with plenty of room to spread out in their beachfront ambiance.

Baires has a large outdoor space on Washington and 6th. It's an Argentinian joint which features beef and some basic Italian dishes.

I don't know with 100 people you are limited as far as restaurants go. You might consider hotels. There are several on Collins Ave starting at 15th Street and heading north.

      Good luck.

      ciao.

      1. How about Talula? They have a garden patio. Not sure if 100 people could fit. Great food.

        1. I have to let you know I actually had my rehearsal dinner at Taverna Opa 6 months ago.

I am from Miami and know many places and I am VERY picky about food and atmosphere. We got married on South Beach so we wanted something easy for out of towners. We also wanted something different, fun, casual and great food. All ages were comfortable. It is also moderately priced. We had them set up on the back patio. So from personal experience, I have to say they were wonderful to work with. The arrangements were a snap. It was almost too easy. We had about 60 people or so. I would do it again. I hope this helped!

          Best of luck!

Thank you so much everyone for your replies....I am going to look into all of these options. It is actually for my rehearsal dinner, so I will definitely consider Opa with this information.

I'm considering Opa for my rehearsal dinner, and was wondering if you felt that it was too loud or crazy for the occasion. I have been there before and remember it being pretty wild. Please let me know what your experience was like. Thanks!
