Valleyites!!! Please help.
In my Blvd crusin' today, which isn't often, I noticed two new restaurants (to me). Does anyone out there know about them? The quality? prices, etc.? Both on Ventura - Encino
GOCHI Japanese Charocoal Dining (?) Is it like Hibachi ?. When I was living in Japan, I went to a special restaurant in southern Honshu that cooked and served their meals on old clay roofing tiles...fun!
Ate18 (?)
BTW- P/U "stuff" from Tarzana Armenian - :( oh so, not the same anymore.....

I did the old post on Gochi and have been back since. I really like it and think it is a very good bang for the buck if you get the dinner. Ordering individual meats can be expensive. I also avoid the "premium" and "kobe" beef. They are not much better than the basic beef, which is pretty darn tasty.
The barbecuing is done on a grill built into the table. When you sit down, charcoal is placed in a well and the grill placed across the top. You then put the meat on top to cook.
