Haven't heard much about this place on the board. Has anyone been there recently? If I go, what should I order--or not?

Thanks.

If I remember correctly, there were mostly negative posts about this place after it opened last year. (Maybe you could do a search to find the old posts.) If you decide to try Black Pearl, let us know what you think!

I went there once with the girlfriend. We're vegetarians, and the food was interesting. The Spaghetti Squash entree was really good.

Good bread, and pizzas from what I understand. Entrees are in the 15 dollarish range, but I didn't have any meat entrees so not sure what a steak costs.

They have a great brunch deal on Sundays. 13 bucks with unlimited Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Champagne.

Black Pearl isn't the best, but it isn't that bad. I like their brunch deals. The service was kind of off the few times I went. Once it was so slow 2 couples walked out, another time I received somebody else's entree. Since I work odd hours, I like that the kitchen is open late.

I went there a short time ago with my wife. The pizza was excellent. Nice and crisp and smoky, IMO better than Anthony's which is further down the Slope. I had fish, which was also very good. It was a sunday, so I was abit leery about ordering seafood, but it was very tasty.

On a side note, John Turturro was there that evening with the fam.
