EVOO existed long before Rachael Ray. Michael Ruhlman makes mention of the acronym in one of his earlier ...Of A Chef books. I believe the term originated in the California Wine Country in the 80's.
NO QQ IS STUPID. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S ABOUT FOOD :)
Extra virgiin olive oil. The term seems to have been born by a certain TV personality (you can read about that, and other negliglbly useful information here: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...
I buy and use the stuff all the time, but I just refer to it as "olive oil".
Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Rachel Ray uses that abbreviation on her show on the Food Network all the time. Don't feel at all bad for not knowing it!
