Nice dinner with dad?

My dad is in town and interested in a dinner in a quieter restaurant for friday night. I am near LACMA but can travel. Any recs?

    Jar, Campanile, or Lucques for fine dining.

    There are many good French places in your area, but they can get a bit rowdy - save for Mimosa, which is known for its more authentic French food.

    Same with Italian. However, Ca'Brea is not too loud - I think it could work. It is a bit dark, but the food is hearty and fantastic, and it's practically right next to LACMA.

            Luna Park would hardly qualify as "quieter" per the original request. Quite the opposite.

            How about Girasole on Larchmont? good italian food, small and intimate. I think it may be BYOB. Be sure to reserve a table, just to be safe.
