BEST SUSHI DOWNTOWN near MUSIC CENTER

Seeing a show tonight and wanna take myself to a low-key sushi bar where I am sure to get in at 6:30pm. I hear SUSHI GEN and R3 are both great in different ways (one casual, one more trendy).... Any votes for your fave SUSHI PLACE for some really great basic fresh sushi downtown near the Music Center?

Opens at 5:30. Less crowded than Sushi Gen, and offering solid sushi at very reasonable prices.

sushi gen wont take a reservation and from what I hear, at 6:30 on a Thurs night I will have to wait 30 minutes PLUS i hear the service is slow. I have an 8pm curtain to make. :-( So I'll do 55 this time and maybe GEN another time.

SUSHI GO 55 is probably your safest bet for High Quality and ease of getting in. 3rd floor, 3rd and Alameda.
SUSHI GEN is also a big favorite, but a little tougher to get into, but we normally don't have a problem at the Sushi Bar.
R-23 is OK but it's not as good as it was a few years ago. Exception is their Crab Salad which is pretty good.
