It's been a while since I've been to Augsburg, but it was a very nice city. Look for Hasenbrau and Scheider Kloster Weiss beers. They really do an excellent beer.

We were there last year, and though the food wasn't memorable, it was inexpensive and relatively healthy. Some of the best dishes were wheat bear, spaetzle with onions, weisse wurst, and any of the salads and dark breads. Alao it should be plum kuchen and mushroom season. We found the restaurants to be generally of uniform quality.

Hi, you should try "König von Flandern" which is a brewery & typical bavarian restaurant: http://www.koenigvonflandern.de/ with some special rooms.
