We ordered from the clam shack menu: ok little necks, flour-y clam chowder, not bad fried clams w/ bellies but a really small serving for $25, tasteless lobster roll (had asked them not to add tartar sauce, cucumber, celery, which they said they ordinarily do--they suggested drawn butter--i said sure--how can drawn butter over lobster be bland and dry?), not sweet ear of corn. Pretty disappointing. Where oh where to find good New England seafood in these parts?

I ate once in the main dining area and wasn't terribly impressed. A friend recommended Overton's in Norwalk for friend seafood type stuff, I haven't gotten the chance to go yet.

On the uber-casual end there is Stew Leonard's in Danbury which has a barbecue tent up serving lobster dinners for $14.95, lobster rolls and I think fried clams..not sure.

A new spot called The Catch recently opened on Route 7 in Ridgefield where King Neptune used to be. Word has it the seafood is very good, and very pricey.
