Chow near downtown Hyatt?

Any suggestions for food near the downtown Hyatt, or within a short train ride? Low to high end, any type of cuisine. Never been to the city before. Thanks!

For a great bar (inexpensive) with great food, go to Silvertone on Bromfield, Viga has great sandwiches and pizza (off of Summer St), blu in the Ritz is great for American, nice view and outdoor seating, and Penang in Chinatown is great for Malaysian. Have fun!

That hotel is next door to Chinatown. You didn't say lunch or dinner. For lunch, if you want a fun "exotic" experience, go to the "Chinatown Eatery". It's a food court of sorts, on the second floor of the building at the corner of Beach St. and Harrison Ave., the one with the Chinese travel agency in it. There are three places that will serve you a huge plate of delicious food for $6 or less. There's also a juice bar that has great smoothies and bubble tea.

For dinner, try Peach Farm on Tyler St. or Taiwan Cafe on Oxford St. or King Fung Garden on Kneeland St.

Also, it might not appeal in this heat, but for great shabu-shabu, try Kaze, on the corner of Harrison and Essex Sts., a block from your hotel.

If you search for "downtown" or "theater", you'll see a lot of recommendations.

If you be around for lunch during the week, you must walk over to Chacarero for a chacarero sandwich. It's just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Ask the concierge for directions. And search "chacarero" on this board for a discussion of the sandwiches.
