Finding Deals on KitchenAid Stand Mixer?

studiocate Aug 1, 2006 10:22 PM

I'm looking to purchase a KitchenAid 5-Quarter Artisan stand mixer in Tangerine. Does anyone know where I might find it for less than Amazon's price of $269.95? I do receive the 20% off coupons from Bed Bath and Beyond, but the store in my area doesn't carry Tangerine. I would like a brand new one (not refurbished). Thanks in advance for the tips!

I guess this is an old thread, but does anyone know of a good deal on a kitchenaid mixer now? I want to get one and I don't care what color it is, I just want to get a good price.

I don't know if you are open to a used machine, but I found an older Kitchen Aid (in just plain old white) in the Pennysaver for $50. Since the older ones especially are so indestructible a used model is a good option at that kind of price. Craigslist is another good place to check for serious deals.

Back in September of last year amazon had a deal on this model http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000... for $99 w/ free shipping. Don't know your time frame or if they will ever run this deal again but if you've got some time it may work out. I'd suggest keeping an eye on the Cookware board here on Chowhound as that's how I found out about the amazon deal.

Thanks for the tip! I just found a $30 rebate offer on Cookware.com that comes with a free Food & Wine magazine too. Pretty good deal! :)

Wow, nice find. I feel like I've read this thread before but didn't see that. The classic is definitely one of the only KA mixers that will get that low in price. I found a good one for early summer here..

Best value right now has to be the KitchenAid Professional stand mixer. 199$ off the mixer and an 80$ ice cream maker attachment for free. Much more value than the Artisan will give you, though they are superb too just a little smaller.

Here's a link to a place that's selling this model for $249.99 with free shipping, plus they're offering a $20 mail-in rebate, bringing the price down to $229.99:

Bed Bath and Beyond does transfer between stores, and, I think, special order. I've even had them ship to my home something that the chain carries but the SF Bay Area does not. And the 20% off coupon was valid. It may take a week or two to arrive, but if the person in the department finds it on the computer, and takes my order, they have always come through.

Check the fatwallet.com message board. Look for the hot deals message board. Do a search for kitchen aid on the hot deals board not the search on the site.

A month back the site pointed to me, a white kitchen aid artisan for 200 brand new on amazon.com . Amazon also had a 25 dollar coupon at that time and free shipping too. I paid 175 for the blender including shipping. Kitchen aid also had a 20 dollar rebate as well. If I send the rebate my mixer would be 155. I've seen weird colored artisans go as low as 169 or maybe even less without coupon and rebate.

Not that it's much of a discount, but Macy's will give you a discount if you apply for their credit card and they always have the Artisan in a dozen colors. Just thought I'd throw that out there since there don't seem to be many ways to get discounts on the more fun colors.

Sometimes Kohl's has really good deals too, though I'm not sure on the colors. My future MIL got me a red one a couple of years ago for a pretty good deal at Kohl's... I think she also used one of those coupons they give cardholders too.

I will be sure to post if I find anything.
What I'm planning to research is whether a physical Linens N Things store would be willing to special order the mixer in Tangerine, apply the 20% off coupon, and not charge me shipping. In this case I would pay sales tax, but with the current $20 rebate offer from KitchenAid, I would end up paying a total of about $212.
I called Bed Bath and Beyond already, and was told that some store managers are willing to special order, use the coupon, and waive shipping. However, the rebate form from KitchenAid has a statement that says it "does not apply to Bed Bath and Beyond and Lowe's stores." Not sure exactly what that means -- I've put in an email to KitchenAid already. Will keep you posted...

Please let me know if you find it at a good price! I am looking for the exact same thing, the Artisan in Tangerine, also trying to find better price.

Usually, deals on KA stands are limited to ordinary colours--no hardship if function matters more than decor. You'll pay full price or get slim discounts for hot colours/finishes.

Not tangerine, but spice orange and lemon are available from Kitchenaid for under $200. This is the link:

It's their outlet online store, but I think the machines are new. There's a different link for refurbished items.
