My co-worker and I went here for lunch 8/1/06, this is in the former Tokyo Ramen spot. It serves Malaysia and Singapore Cuisine. It's very clean and modern looking inside so we decided to try it. We were the first to arrive so we didn't get to see what others order, darn it.
We tried the appetizer #1 Roti Canai (Indian pancake) $2.95-it's the all time favorite Malaysian crispy Indian style pancake w/ curry dipping sauce. I liked it fine. Rating: A
there are several lunch special only on weekdays 11a-3p (except holidays) comes w/ rice and soup, (noodle or fried rice dishes don't get steamed rice.)
The free soup we got was a light reddish broth that was sweet and a little bit spicy w/ baby corn, carrots, and tomatoes. I liked it. Rated: B
lunch specials we tried:
#73 Hainanese chicken $5.95-chicken steamed in its own stock, accompanied by chicken-marinated rice & chili-ginger sauce. They gave us a huge bowl of yellow looking rice w/ another plate with just a small amount of chicken w/ lots of tiny bones and not much meat, some cucumber and a reddish chili sauce. Just ok-not enough food for me Rated C
#84 Rendang Beef $5.95-beef cubes stewed in rich coconut milk spiced w/ ginger, lemongrass, lime leaves & a dash of curry powder.
This was an ok dish too-beef had a tiny but of curry taste but otherwise just boring, one piece had a lot of corn starch taste to me. Rated D
They have one unisex bathroom that I didn't check out. Water was refilled often. They have lots of hard candy at the door for free when you're leaving.
