There's a Zen Buffet now in Woodland Hills. As far as Asian/Chinese buffet, this one is above average. Snow crab legs and mucho shrimp, beef, pork, chicken several ways and other seafood, sushi and chinese staples. There's a fruit bar, salad bar and the typical hum drum style desserts. I know they have several locations, call and see if there's one closer to you. :)KQ

All of the other Zen Buffets are way east--Rosemead, Pico Rivera and Long Beach. I've only eaten at the Rosemead location, but Buffet City is better.

Thank you... Is Buffet City the one that's on Wilshire and Barrington? Is it a new place?

Yes. Buffet City opened up about a year and a half ago. I believe there was once a Good Earth Cafe at that location. The fish and chicken items are especially good.

This Buffet City is around Wilshire & Westgate, meaning 11819 Wilshire, also meaning about 3 blocks west of Barrington. Do not confuse it with VIP Harbor Seafood, which has taken a decided turn for the worse with its change of ownership in the past 1-2 years.

I guess this depends on your definition of the Westside. The best Chinese buffet west of downtown is Downtown Buffet in the Baldwin Hills Plaza mall. In addition, Buffet City, 11819 Wilshire Blvd. has some pretty good items, too, and is probably sufficient for your needs. Be aware, of course, that we're talking Chinese buffet food, which is several rungs below gourmet food. Also, don't even think about going to Super Star Seafood Buffet on Jefferson in Culver City.
