Delicious New Hampshire BBQ?/Caterer Recs?

Hello all -

I live in Brooklyn but will be getting married in Walpole, New Hampshire next summer. I'd love to have a scrumptious bbq (complete with ribs, delicious salads with fresh herbs, etc) for my reception dinner. Any suggestions of places and/or caterers that you think would be up to the task?

Ribs aside, any other recommendations for yummy caterers in the Walpole area? I'm looking for caterer who puts a high premium on farm fresh and local ingredients.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Not sure about Walpole specifically, but Top of the Hill Grill in Brattleboro, VT (across the river) is very good and may do catering.

Also very near Walpole is Keene, NH and there are a lot of restaurants in that area that probably do catering.

The Putney Inn (Putney, VT) does catering but they don't specialize in BBQ.

Maybe that will get you started?

    1. Thanks so much for the leads! I'll certainly look into them. Re: Top of the Hill, we actually stopped there for ribs right after we got engaged, but when we called a couple weeks ago the message said that due to a "devastating fire" they'd closed. Have you heard anything about this?

      1. Yes, they did have a fire and are closed for now, but I mentioned them because I thought that for sure they'd be up and running by next summer.

Additionally, both The Putney Inn and The Riverview Cafe (in Brattleboro and not previously mentioned) are part of the Vermont Fresh Network that partners local growers and chefs.
