Topolobampo and Naha
Thanks to everyone who recommended Topolo to this out-of-towner coming to Chicago for the first time - it exceeded all expectations. We started with margaritas and the trio of seviches - all were different, all were wonderful. I had the duck breast in mole poblano; my husband had an escabeche of salmon. We split a chocolate mousse-like dessert, the name of which escapes me, but it was flavored with cardamon, and was quite possibly one of the best desserts we've ever had. A memorable lunch.
On our last night in Chicago (Thursday, after the torrential rain) we ended up across the street from Topolobampo, at Naha, which we enjoyed very much. We ate in the bar, sharing a mezze platter, some lamb kabobs, and a lovely ice cream sundae (with balsamic glazed fruit and anise hyssop) for dessert. Service was great, too.
We hope to come back some day and sample more of your fine restaurants!
